Guided Meditation: Lovingkindness

Feb 28, 2023

In practicing friendliness towards the experience of meditation itself, we let go of resistance and agitation and begin to relax and soften the mind and body. Lovingkindness gives rise to a natural, spontaneous ease.

This 21-minute guided practice with Heather Fenton begins with mindfulness of breath in the body and then moves to attending to our experience of sitting and breathing with lovingkindness.

Lovingkindness (Metta Parami) is a goodwill that softens and refines our view. It aids us on the path, as it reduces mental turbulence while we practice. And in reducing wrong views, such as ill-will and confusion, it creates the conditions for wisdom to spontaneously arise.
